Evenings at the lake are quite pleasant and the screened sitting porch makes them even more comfortable. The gated deck will keep pets and kids safely corralled when needed. Just minutes from Machias, Maine, the cabin is just a half mile off US Route 1. The attractions of Lubec�s West Quoddy Lighthouse, and Roosevelt�s Cottage on Campobello Island, Canada, are just 15 minutes away. There are parks, hiking trails, fishing, golf, kayaking, and sailing in the immediate area. Chartered sea tours, deep sea fishing and international ferries provide easy access to the Atlantic, the beauty of the Passamaquoddy Bay area, and that of the Bay of Fundy. The highest tides in the world are found here and the drama of seeing the largest whirlpool in the northern hemisphere is something to be remembered. The floor plan below shows how the cabin is laid out. Fully equipped the kitchen includes a stove, refrigerator, microwave oven and all the utensils and dishes need for a comfortable stay. We tell out guests to bring linens and food, we do the rest. Come enjoy a lovely lakeside retreat on one of the nicest lakes in Maine. This is Downeast Maine's 'Waldon's Pond'.
