Property Details
From the North Shore Road down to 220 feet of pristine, private beach on Penobscot Bay, facing the Camden Hills. Sunset views from North to South. Fields, forest, and a quiet paradise. The deed will specify a buildable area for one house and a narrow easement for beach access by only one other property.
The property runs approximately 1000 feet from the town road down to the water. From about 130 feet of frontage on the town road, the plot widens gradually and then narrows to 220 feet along the high tide line at the beach. A professional survey and soil testing were completed in 2002. The first 900 feet or so of the property is a gently sloping blend of field and forest with an old stone wall running parallel to the bay. Although the land drops off to the waterfront, there is an existing path and set of steps making it easy to access the beach. There is a small fishhouse above the beach with a woodburning stove that has been used as a sauna. The beach itself, which is mostly small pebbles, lies at the center of a broad quiet cove open to the northwest. The water off the beach is quite deep, even at low tide. Setting a mooring for summer use along this shore is possible, and the property owner enjoys riparian rights to do so. |
